A functional part must suit the load case, available space, mating components and environment, not merely look similar. 3DOrder develops or manufactures technical plastic parts from clearly described requirements and first assesses whether additive manufacturing suits the intended use.

Loads, temperature and environment
Tension, compression, bending, impact and repeated movement affect a printed part differently. Temperature, moisture, UV and cleaning agents can also influence material selection. This information needs to be included in the enquiry.
A familiar material name does not replace component assessment. Print direction, wall thickness, radii, notches and infill also determine behaviour.
Fits, fasteners and design
Holes, snap fits, screw points, bearing locations and mating surfaces are identified as functional features. A test coupon or approval part is useful for unknown fits.
Design changes can reduce stress concentration, simplify assembly or allow threaded inserts. Changes are agreed and versioned before production.
Batch production, inspection and limits
After approval, identical parts or defined variants can be manufactured as a small batch. Inspection scope, measurement points and documentation are agreed for the project.
Safety-critical, structural, pressure-bearing, medical, electrical, vehicle or food-contact applications are only accepted when requirements and necessary evidence can be clarified reliably.

Can a printed part replace an original component?
Sometimes, but not from similar geometry alone. Material, loads, environment and possible failure consequences need assessment.
Are threads possible in 3D-printed parts?
Printed threads or inserted thread elements may be useful depending on size and load. The solution is selected for the project.
Can you make a load-test sample first?
Yes. A prototype or approval part is often sensible for unknown fits and loads.
