Unavailable plastic parts can often be reconstructed and manufactured again with 3D printing. 3DOrder assesses components from an original, a dimensioned drawing, suitable photos or existing 3D data. Function, installation conditions and loads matter more than a merely similar outer shape.

Which replacement parts are suitable?
Typical projects include brackets, covers, knobs, clips, enclosure parts, guides, spacers and other unavailable plastic components. A design improvement may also be useful when the original repeatedly failed at a known weak point.
Before accepting a project, we assess the available space, fasteners, mating components, temperature and loads. Safety-critical, electrical, pressure-bearing, structural, medical, vehicle or food-contact applications require a separate assessment and are never approved from appearance alone.
Original, drawing, photo or CAD file
An intact original is the best basis for measurement and fit checks. For a broken part, send every fragment, photos in its installed position and a description of its original function. A dimensioned sketch should clearly identify holes, mounts and interfaces.
Existing STL, 3MF or STEP data speeds up the review. If no digital model exists, a printable model can be created. The modelling scope and delivery of source files are agreed in the quotation before work begins.
From measurement to an approval part
After technical clarification, the component is modelled or the supplied file is checked. For fit-critical parts, producing one approval part first is often sensible. Further units or a small batch follow after practical verification.
Material, print orientation, wall thickness and connection points are selected for the stated use. Any binding statement about suitability, tolerance or strength only applies when explicitly included in the quotation.

Frequently asked questions
Can a broken part be reproduced without a CAD file?
Often yes. Send all fragments, several sharp photos, reference dimensions and information about the function. We check whether the information is sufficient before quoting.
Will the replacement be identical to the original?
Geometry and fit can be reconstructed deliberately, but the material, manufacturing process and resulting properties may differ. Relevant requirements are therefore clarified first.
Can I order a single sample first?
Yes. An approval part is often the safest first step for fits or uncertain loads.
