Large-format 3D printing for large components
Large-format 3D printing enables large enclosures, models, jigs and custom components without conventional tooling. For suitable FDM projects, 3DOrder offers a build volume up to approximately 80 × 40 × 60 cm. Actual feasibility also depends on geometry, material, print duration and quality requirements.

Build volume and technical feasibility
The stated dimensions describe the maximum available build volume, not a universal commitment for every component. Very long print times, warping, thin walls, overhangs and later handling can require a different split or design.
The review needs outer dimensions, target weight, functional surfaces, desired finish and operating conditions. Function-critical fits should be clearly identified in the CAD data.
Segmentation and joining
Parts exceeding the build volume or with difficult geometry can be divided into printable segments. Joint positions are selected around visibility, loads, assembly access and an appropriate joining method.
Plugs, screws, adhesive joints or designed overlaps may be possible. Surface finishing, visible seams and achievable strength are agreed in advance; an invisible joint cannot be promised universally.
Material, surface and handling
Material and print orientation are selected for use, temperature, environment and loads. Large parts show process-related layer lines; sanding, priming or painting can be agreed separately for suitable projects.
Transport routes, packaging, door widths and the installation location should be considered early. Shipping cost depends on the actual parcel dimensions, weight and destination.

Frequently asked questions
Can every part up to 80 × 40 × 60 cm be printed?
No. Build volume is only the geometric limit. Shape, material, print time, warping and quality requirements also need review.
Can you manufacture even larger projects?
Segmentation can often be assessed. Joints and connections must suit the loads, appearance and assembly process.
Are smooth surfaces possible?
Layer lines are initially visible. Additional finishing may be offered depending on geometry, but it changes effort, dimensions and cost.
